Meet your Therapist

Pauline Bailo, LCSW:

Great to meet you!

I am a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience working with families and have specialized in the field of special needs (autism spectrum, intellectual disability and severe behavioral challenges).

I have worked with kids, teens and families providing in-home mental health treatment, and working private practices and I specialize in intervention strategies for children and teens with emotional or behavior challenges.

The majority of the children I work with simply want to just be kids, but there is a concern or barrier that needs to be addressed or removed first. The majority of the youth I work with are trying to figure out their purpose and how to focus on the future. The families I work with want to reduce stress and be cohesive. I can help families find those tools that will help them thrive.

Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Trauma, Parenting Stress, and Family Conflict.

Works with: Children 4-18+

Approach: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Solution-Focused, Strength-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Style: Calm, Silly, and Reflective

Fun Facts:

SuperPower: To provide hope when the world seems dark.

Proudest moment: Graduating from Fordham with my Masters!

I live at the Jersey Shore and love sailing on the Navesink River. I enjoy going to the beach and working out.

I have a 2 1/2-year-old labradoodle named Darla and two teenage kids who keep me busy.

  • I have earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland and received my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in New York.

  • I believe that if families have the tools to truly communicate, it will lead to mentally healthy children and adolescents - and I believe I can help families find those tools.

  • To provide hope when the world seems dark.

What families are saying about Pauline

“Manatee is a beautiful experience where kids can be themselves and someone understands them, and then as parents, the therapists help us better understand our kids. I would say that Manatee therapists have a great talent to speak with kids, they have the patience that as parents we often don’t have. I would absolutely recommend it because its so practical (you can do it at home) and because kids need a space to be able to vent their feelings, which they cant do with their parents. Thank you Manatee for helping us stay on our feet!”

— Manatee mom

“She's ok now, more excited now, more calm, she now has made friends at school, has been able to adapt much better with school. With her brother she shares more and just looks calmer overall. WIth anxiety, nerves, worries... more calm.”
